On Saturday, 29th August 2026, members of the Association of Humble and Obedient Youths (AHOY), Jolly Roger Zone, visited Adeoyo Maternity Teaching Hospital, Yemetu, Ibadan, Oyo State, for a voluntary blood donation exercise. The initiative aimed to replenish the hospital’s blood bank and help prevent avoidable fatalities. A transfusion may replenish the bloodstream; the willingness to donate replenishes our faith in humanity.

The delegation was warmly received by Dr. Kunle Obilade and other medical personnel. The visit underscored the importance of collaboration in safeguarding lives. Humanity is the common denominator in the arithmetic of suffering, transcending social status, background, and circumstance.

Beyond donating blood, the Zone provided financial assistance to 10 patients, helping ease the economic burdens of medical treatment. Where illness imposes its burden, financial hardship should not be permitted to deepen the weight. This gesture affirmed that the smallest intervention can alter the trajectory of a life.

The Zone appreciates Dr. Kunle Obilade, the medical personnel, hospital management, and participating members for their cooperation and contributions. The hand that offers assistance today participates in a social covenant whose value may be realised in another life, another hour, or another generation.

At AHOY, the legacy of service is written in lives touched, not accolades accumulated. Through this initiative, Jolly Roger Zone reaffirmed its commitment to preserving lives, easing suffering, and upholding human dignity through practical acts of compassion and enduring solidarity.
